SIMI VALLEY, CA – January 28, 2011 – Total Contentz, one of the industry’s top contents restoration training and consulting companies, conducted a large workshop hosted by Canada’s Canstar Restorations and the Canadian Disaster Restoration Group (CDRG) on January 10-11.


Forty-three front line workers, owners and managers attended the Contents Processing & Pack Out Workshop at Canstar Restorations’ newly built 30,000-square-foot restoration center in Coquitlam near Vancouver, British Columbia. Most attendees were Canstar employees, but representatives from 7 other organizations also attended.


Increasing profit margins by addressing all aspects of the business

A wide variety of contents restoration professionals – from brand new frontline workers to 30-year management veterans – learned the newest techniques to increase their company’s profit margin and stay ahead of the competition, including:

 ·         Streamlining contents-handling systems and processes from four critical perspectives – facility, personnel, equipment/supplies and systems

·         Learning specific packing and storing techniques to dramatically decrease breakage, losses and liabilities – from tiny figurines to antiques and grand pianos – that make you a favorite of insurance companies

·         Implementing digital photo inventory

·         Improving the speed of claims processing

·         Learning the latest restoration and deodorizing techniques, including using ultrasonic cleaning technology and assembly line procedures
